Pocket Watch USA 1919
An antique American Elgin Father Time gold filled railroad open face pocket watch, made in the USA in 1919. This pocket watch comes with a railroad FOB. Please se pictures.
Dial: The white enamel dial has black Arabic numerals with outer minute divisions and outer 1-60-minute numbers. The dial has blued hands and a subsidiary second’s dial at the six. The dial is signed in the upper centre: “Elgin”.
Movement: The anchor lever movement has 21 jewels with a high regulator. The movement is signed: “Father Time, 21 Jewels, Adjusted 5 Positions” and numbered: 22791322. As this pocket watch has a very high movement and is fully screwed, a watchmaker can make this pocket watch to work with full accuracy! Now the movement is in great working condition however, we cannot guarantee accuracy for an antique pocket watch.
Case: The watch lies in a steel gold filled open face case with screw case both back and front with engravings on the back case and a monogram free cartouche. The inner side of the case is signed: “Philadelphia Watch Case Co, Guaranteed Twenty Years” and numbered: 9578459.

Please note: to set the time of watch you need to open the front screw back case and pull out the lever at the one/two and turn the winder to set the correct time. This method was done specially for the guards travelling on a train for the safety of the people, so that they could keep exactly the accurate time.
Never pull on the winder as this can break the watch!
