Antique Autograph & Sketch Art / Watercolour Book

This little Edwardian autograph book is an amazing example of its kind.
It has a lovely collection of messages, sketches and watercolours, some of which are of outstanding quality and possibly from the hands of artists.
There’s also one photograph of 2 girls holding a trophy, one in an unusual sporty outfit. They may have been awarded for some sports related achievement.
The book belonged to a lady called Edith Mary Batchelor, who clearly had a lot of very talented friends and family members to produce such exceptional little works of art for her.
There are quite a few messages inside it, some thought provoking, some funny, some unusual and a couple that would be considered offensive by today’s standards.
It just goes to show how different people and norms were at the time and how much the world has changed since. It’s a piece of social history.
There are also some drawings & messages relating to WW1. Perfect for the collector of militaria too.
The book measures 14 x 12 cm.
It has some damage and loose parts, but it’s in relatively decent condition for age.
Offered with FREE worldwide shipping!
