I get a lot of campaign style antique furniture, but I've never come across a desk like this one. This desk has a great look from all angles & is a very practicable piece of antique furniture. It's mahogany, with three drawers, brass military style handles & brass corner edges, which are also on the sides along with dummy drawers. The top has a hand coloured leather writing surface & this desk is finished on the back too. What makes it quite unusual, is the way it sits on two trestle bases. This not only gives it a great look, but means you have a lot more knee room & needless to say, it will transport easily, because the top just lifts off the base. I would say it dates to around the 1920-30's period & it's in excellent condition.
