This is an antique campaign torchere. An English, rosewood side table or planter stand with Chinese taste, dating to the William IV period, circa 1835.

Wonderful Chinoiserie taste, with Oriental motif accentuating the form
Circular top fitting solidly upon the base with a quartet of sliding peg joints
