Antique Caughley "Fisherman" tea caddy, c1785

Antique early Caughley porcelain "Fisherman" pattern tea caddy.
The design dates to c1785.
The tea caddy is marked with the Caughley factory "S" mark. This stands for "Salopian", the early china works factory name.
The tea caddy comes with an un-associated lid. This lid is actually a Worcester factory "Mansfield" pattern mustard pot lid. Apart from the cut-out for the mustard pot spoon, the lid is a very good fit to the tea caddy.
These two pieces came to us together, and have probably lived together for many decades if not centuries, so we are not about to split them up now!
The tea caddy measures approximately 8 cm (3") in diameter by 10 cm (4") tall (excluding the lid).
The tea caddy is in very good condition.
There is a small chip to the lip, not visible when the lid is in place.
The print is clear.
The lid has had the knop reattached.
Please see photos as these form an important part of the description.
Selling price includes free UK postage. For other countries, please contact us for a quote.
