This exquisite Chinese altar table embodies the classic beauty of its design and hails from Shanxi. Its slender form sets it apart from antique European antique furniture, which rarely features such elongated proportions. Altar antique tables held great significance in ancestral rituals in China. coated in black lacquer, with gilt artwork of scenes from china and geometric patters on the base, this table now glimpses of its age and due to wear and tear over time. Typically, families would hang a portrait of their ancestors above the table and light joss sticks upon it to ensure the well-being of their home. this unusually deep table could be used for dining.
