Quality Corner Cabinet - Astragal Glazed - c1800

A Georgian English mahogany corner cabinet with fine astragal glazed door c1800.

A very pleasing example, wonderfully proportioned, and ideal for display and storage purposes.

Of quality craftsmanship it presents canted corners, upper vertical relief detailing, and dentil moulding to the crown.

The astragal glazed door provides a superior 24 pane arrangement with an elliptical form, fine beading and very desirable curved glass in every section - certainly the work of a master craftsman. This opens to reveal a trio of straight fronted shelves and a clean interior.

The cabinet displays wonderfully throughout and the whole is presented in good antique order. Fittings are provided to allow easy wall mounting.

There is a working lock and key.

Overall a quality English corner display cabinet, with good proportion, which benefits from superior original glazing.
