Of bold geometric design having a four colour palette that uses navy blue, saffron, sand and madder red to create a distinct fusion of patterns and shapes. The central field and outer border both of navy ink blue to which gives the piece its poise. This flat woven piece is naturally thin and Kelim like, yet extremely hard wearing and would make a definitive statement in the right setting.
Dhurries are easily portable, being light weight and foldable. They come in variety of color combinations and patterns catering to the needs of any taste or occasion. Additionally Dhurrries have a low maintenance cost as they do not get infected by insects responsible for destroying carpets.
Dhurries have a long and varied history in India. Their function has ranged from humble dowery bedrugs, woven by young country women, to the great palace carpets executed by master weavers. Weaving workshops were frequently established in the prisons of India and Afghanistan.
