This antique Edwardian mahogany desk is exceptional quality throughout & it's stamped on the drawer 'Maple & Co', which explains the quality. It's mainly mahogany, with satinwood crossbanding around all the drawers. This desk has an attractive superstructure which is topped with a brass gallery. The brass handles on the drawers & the locks are also original. The drawers are finely dovetailed as you would expect. This desk has a polished back & has concealed casters under the plinths. It also has a tooled leather writing surface. Transportation is easy, because the top section just lifts off from the two pedestals. This desk would have been made around the 1890-1900 period & it's in excellent condition throughout.
