This well made high back Windsor armchair has a lovely shape & features. It's also in excellent condition & has a lovely colour. I think the wood is solid elm, but there may be elements of oak within. It has a curved arched high back, with the arms forming another curve further down & there is a double row of turned spindles around the back. The seat is well shaped out & it has that classic 'U' shaped front stretcher between the turned legs. I'm not sure of the exact age of this chair, because I'm not an expert on country antique furniture. I think it dates from the 1930-50's period, however it maybe older.
