A lovely set of Victorian letter or Postal scales with a beautifully cast base with a highly decorative pierced or reticulated base standing on four cast feet.

The underside doesn't seem to be signed by the maker but I would suspect either Samuel Turner or Townsend of Birmingham.

The Avery weights sit in a holder to the top creating a most interesting and decorative look.

Dating to around 1880, the scales remain in superb condition. The footprint measures 9" x 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" tall to top of weights.
