Antique English Crocodile Jewellery Box c.1890

A wonderful late Victorian jewelry box covered in a deep chocolate brown Crocodile skin with a lovely glossy patina.
The box is opened by pinching the two brass sliding catches which releases the lid to be opened, it then snaps shut when closed, it comes complete with a working key.
The interior is a joy, lined in the original green leather and the tray retaining the original silk and velvet. The box is signed by the retailer, Steele & Co., Birmingham. I believe this was the famous hairdressers described as "Hair Specialists and Posticheurs, 40 New Street, Birmingham".
Excellent condition with minor wear commensurate with age and use, dating to the late Victorian era, around 1890/1900.
8" x 5 1/2" x 3 3/4".
