A rare find and a magnificent showy piece. Made from beautiful heavy polished brass with pierced and engraved decoration.

The "fan" folds up into the case and the compartments kept in place with the two hinged catches either side. The "fan" can then be opened to create a spectacular show of seven individual photograph frames each with a hinged opening and each retaining the original bevelled glass.

The entire piece is affixed to a heavy stone base.

Excellent condition spanning 13" wide while opened x 3" deep at foot x 12" tall including the ring handle. Victorian in era dating to c.1860/1880.
