A fabulous large George III Mahogany box with a fabulous domed lid topped by the original cast brass handle, the front having a complimentary original brass escutcheon housing a working tasselled key.

The interior has been re-lined in a hand marbled paper to create a fresh and very usable finish. The box is a great size making useful for all sorts of storage, putting it to good use as well as enjoying the beauty of this piece.

What of course makes this a very special example is the inlaid regal crown to the front and the date 1791.

Excellent condition, measuring 14" x 8" x 7" tall.
