Antique English Money Box / Bank - Elephant c.1900
A highly sought-after and scarce little money box or bank in silver plate with a fabulous antique patina.
The box was made in the from of a Elephant with a heart shaped lock to the front (these don't actually lock), the lock opens and snaps back to close. This then allows the hinged head to be opened to retrieve the savings. The coins would have been deposited on the underside and there is a leather flap on the inside still intact.
English in origin and late Victorian / Edwardian in era c.1900. Excellent condition measuring 2" x 2 3/4" x 3 1/2" tall.
