Antique Folding Coaching Table / Campaign Table

A very good quality, English antique folding table with shapely legs. In excellent condition with superb colour and with an intriguing origin!
Manufactured at The Boys' Home Regent's Park Road London (1865-1920), this is a very smart solid mahogany coaching table. Also referred to as a campaign table, it folds neatly for storage or for carrying to another room or into the garden.
A perfect lamp table or bedside table, it retains its original finish throughout, with a warm, mellow colour and soft lustre.
Often made as square or rectangular, it is lovely to find one of circular form.
The brass plaque to the underside of the table reads:
'Manufactured at The Boys' Home Regent's Park Rd London, orders gratefully received'
The Boys' Home was situated at Regent's Park Road from 1865 to 1920 for 'the training and maintenance of destitute boys not convicted of crime'.
