Antique Framed Lithograph by Trask After Armfield
Artist - W. Trask, after George Armfield (1810-1893), a prolific British wildlife artist best known for his pictures of dogs.
Title - Rustic Sports, No.2
Details - Antique lithographic print produced by Day & Son and published on 1 July 1857 by William Tegg & Co. of Cheapside. A lovely country sports scene depicting three dogs chasing a rabbit. Hand-coloured. Mounted, framed and glazed in a nice quality modern oak frame.
Condition - Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. The lithographic print has had some professional conservation work done by The Buckingham Picture Conservation and Restoration Studios (details are on the back of the frame). It has been mounted on to a board and has some abrasions and tears which have been repaired. The piece has some discolouration, as does the mount. The frame has some light scuffing and wear. The print is discoloured with age and has some grubby marks and foxing (brown spotting). The frame has some light scuffing and wear.
