Here is the most beautiful late 19th century French 18k gold sovereign purse. The pocket is made of 18k chainmail held together with an 18k frame. The clasp has the French hallmark of two eagles heads stamped. Assayed French gold is never lower than 18k. Clasp and hinge are in good working order. A good investment piece.
