SUPERB ANTIQUE FRENCH CORBEILLE BED
A beautiful vintage french double corbeille bed
The bed has a wonderful curved footboard and shaped headboard
In solid cherry wood with wonderful patination
the bed has been reupholstered in wonderful pale lemon satin diamond design , with lemon upholstery braid
The bed has never been slept in since it was professionally upholstered and it is pristine
It perfectly compliments the gorgeous frame
It has wonderful escargot feet and scalloped side rails
The bed is supplied without base or matress.
Regarding the internal dimensions
It is big enough to drop a 4ft 6" standard double inside. You can use a base without drawers and mattress on top
This internal width is 4ft 11"
However the bed can accomadate a custom made 5ft mattress
For this purpose you can use a company callled French finds. They can custom build bases
This is because the measurement is 5ft if a mattress is on the edge of the side rails
Or base can be easily made by screwing 2 by 2 pieces into the side rails and lay slats across that.
A double mattress goes on top
The side rails bolt firmly but invisibly into the head and baseboard so the bed can be dismantled for transport but is very firm when together
The bed is in very good order, a lovely example of elegant french furniture
This is really gorgeous French bed, which would be the focal point to any bedroom
