Antique French Ormolu Mounted Bureau Plat Desk
A very large, impressive and incredibly beautiful antique French style bureau plat desk, dating from around the 1900-1920’s period.
The quality is absolutely outstanding, this has amazing gilt bronze ormolu mounts all over the edges, feet, sides and back. The sides are serpentine shaped, and the back is also beautifully finished so this can be used as a free standing item.
The wood is a combination of walnut, rosewood and king wood, the top is inlaid with a lovely geometric design.
The drawers are very well built internally, with lovely dovetailed joints and they are lined with green baize.
We have recently had this re-polished to a very high standard, the condition is excellent for its age.
Width – 67 inches , 170 cm
Depth – 36 inches , 91 cm
Height – 31 inches , 79 cm
