Antique full hunter pocket watch, Royal Arsenal

Antique Regnam full hunter pocket watch.
The watch has a good quality Swiss stem-winding movement with snailcam regulator which is working nicely.
The movement is signed with the name Regnam. This name was registered by Mojon & Co Ltd in 1919 and is thought to be a tribute to a retired partner in the business, John Manger (which spells Regnam backwards). The company was listed as 'manufacturers, importers and dealers of watches, antique clocks and musical boxes'.
The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover upon which is an inscription, 'Presented to Mr F T Kemp by the Staff and his Shopmates of the RCD Royal Arsenal as a mark of esteem on his retirement, 16th Oct 1924'.
The Royal Arsenal in Woolwich carried out armaments manufacture, ammunition proofing, and explosives research for the British armed forces at a site in Woolwich, England. At the time of the First World War the Arsenal covered 1,285 acres and employed close to 80,000 people. Thereafter its operations were scaled down it finally closed as a factory in 1967 and the Ministry of Defence moved out in 1994.
The RCD, Royal Carriage Department, manufactured gun carriages.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and is in good condition, just the odd minor mark but nothing serious at all.
The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is a glass lens which is in good condition.
The dial is also in lovely condition, with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
Please contact us before placing international orders so that we can advise of shipping prices and to see if customs regulations allow us to post watches to your country.
The international buyer is responsible for paying any import duties and taxes.
All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the \'Buy Securely\' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
