Antique Georgian Mahogany Pembroke table

GEORGE III PEMBROKE TABLE
This is a lovely example or a small George III Mahogany Pembroke table c1790-1810. It is raised on slender straight legs with a quadrant moulding to the outside corner and typical canted insides to the legs. The tops of the legs have shaped bracket corners. It is such a simple and elegant piece and completely square when the leaves are closed. It has a single drawer and no blank drawer to the other side. So technically not a Pembroke. It retains its original handles and escutheon The quality of Mahogany is superb and it is a very elegant small table which could fit into all sorts of spaces and would make a good sofa table. It has good patination and is solid, the original wooden leaf supports have broken and were replaced with metal examples sometime ago.
it is
24 1/4 inches deep
24 1/4 inches long
29 inches high
with both leaves open it is 41 1/2 inches wide
