Antique Georgian Oak Coffer on Stand c1780
Antique Georgian Oak Coffer on Stand and dating from around the time of George 111 c1780. Constructed from quality oak it has a plank top with a moulded edge. To the front are four fielded arched panels with a brass lock escutcheon and working key. The stand has a moulded edge with two long drawers above three smaller drawers all of which are oak lined with brass handles and a brass lock escutcheon to the bottom central drawer. It stands on stile feet joined by a shaped frieze. The coffer is peg joined throughout and has its original pit sawn timber back. The coffer has an unusual fall front.
Measures 47.5" high x 20.5" deep x 58" wide
In very good condition oozing all the charm and character of the period. Our antique furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.
