Very impressive antique Georgian style mahogany chest on chest, with a brushing slide in the middle, reeded canted corners & bracket feet. The graduated drawer fronts are flame mahogany, cross banded around the edges & have beautifully cast brass drop handles. This chest is in lovely condition, having been recently French polished. It does have various old indentations in the surface, but that only adds to the over all character of this piece. The figuring & patterns of the veneers on the drawer fronts are very nice & the mahogany has a very rich nutty brown colour. I would say it dates to around the 1920-30's period. All the drawers have locks & this tallboy comes apart into two sections for easy transportation.
