Antique Jardiniere On Stand, English, Ceramic

This is an antique jardiniere on stand. An English, ceramic decorative planter with ornamental column, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880.
Rich in colour and with classical and Renaissance overtones
Displaying a desirable aged patina - one fine firing crack to rim observed under close inspection
White ceramic base with light blue wash beneath a quality glaze
Gilt flourishes to the rim and handles add an attractive contrast
Of bulb form, the serpentine foliate rim sits above the generously sized planter
Bouquets of detailed flowers adorn the fascia in a palette of pink hues
Ornate handles with scrolling forms terminate in expressive leaf motif
Mark to base reads \'Athens\' likely the pattern mark of Davenport, Staffordshire
Attractive column stand with classical taste offers a surface diameter of 25cm (9.75\")
Continuing the decor of the planter, the column decorated with chased leaf patterns and gilt touches
Presenting a tapering profile with deeply reeded form
Standing upon a square base with shaped plinth edge and canted corners
This is a highly decorative antique jardiniere on stand, with rich colour and overt classical taste. Delivered polished and ready to display.
