Antique Mahogany Astragal Glazed Floor Bookcase

An attractive Georgian style mahogany and astragal glazed bookcase dating to the late 19th/early 20th century and standing just under 5ft high.
With a moulded top above four astragal glazed doors and another four glazed doors below it stands on block feet which are set back from the back to allow for skirting boards. The doors are fitted with brass catches and patent locks by R C & S and open to reveal a total of eight original adjustable shelves with shaped fronts and providing library storage for just over 41ft (12.6m) of books.
In very good condition, some minor marks to base bottom moulding, there are no keys but a good locksmith should be able to cut one if given a lock (our local locksmith charges about £15).
The overall dimensions at the largest points are approximately
Width - 7ft6 / 90 ⅛in (229cm)
Depth - 12in (30.5cm)
Height - 58 ¼in (148cm)
The shelves
41 ¼in wide x 8in deep (105cm x 20.5cm)
This bookcase ships in one piece (it does not dismantle although the doors and shelves can be removed). Please note the books are not included in the price and are shown for display purposes only.
Ref: 0485 Please appreciate all our items are antique and as such may have minor scratches, marks, knocks, shrinkage splits signs of old woodworm, and minor losses to veneer, which combine with care and years of polishing to create an individual character and patina. We cannot describe each marks separately and therefore suggest you do take the time to request extra photos. We do offer a 14 day money back guarantee for UK purchases but cannot refund the return shipping cost.
