This antique mahogany desk is extremely high quality with some wonderful features & is in excellent condition. Most of these kneehole desks with the middle cupboard are always too narrow for kneehole space. This example has a double width kneehole space with a two cupboards. It has a tooled leather writing surface with cross banded mahogany around the edge. The drawers & cupboards are a well patterned flame mahogany. The canted corners are reeded too & it sits on bracket feet. The drawers are all graduated in depth with original brass handles & locks to the three top drawers. This desk is extremely well proportioned & is a faithful copy of a George III piece. I would date it to around the 1950’s period.
