This antique marble top three drawer commode was up to a little while ago sitting in my hall at home. I thought it looked great there, but my wife as usual won. The original marble top is beautiful. The wood is mahogany & it has chinoiserie panelled drawers with brass beading. The drawers have original gilded handles & you may notice in the images that one is partly missing, but we do have it & it will be put back on before it goes out. The chinoiserie is in good original condition & it does show a bit of ageing which is all part of the over all character. All the four corners are grooved as are the legs, which are also brass capped. I think these piece is English or French & I would date it to around the 1890-1910 period.
