This is a substantial antique mercantile chest. An English, pine shipping trunk with tin lined interior, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880.
Bound and braced, with an attractive Victorian appeal
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order
Select pine stocks present a fine grain interest and warm caramel hues
Iron bound throughout, with corner caps and bracing
Stout top opening upon an internal stay hinge to the left
Finished with a tin-lined interior with prominent lip
Helps maintain a cool, fresh ambient temperature within the chest
Dressed with a pair of drop handles to either end for ease of carriage
