Antique Omega Steel Open Face Pocket Watch Swiss 1913
You are bidding on an all-original Steel Omega open-faced Swiss pocket watch in good working order, made circa 1913. Coming with a graduated albert chain, with the links going lager in the middle and tapper smaller towards the end
DIAL: The white enamel dial has art nouveau numerals and with outer minute divisions, red twelve. The dial has golden antique style hands and a subsidiary second’s dial at the six. The dial is signed in the upper centre: “OMEGA” with the logo. Crack between 11 and 12.
MOVEMENT: The anchor lever escapement movement has a plain cock with polished steel regulator and blued steel over coil hairspring. The movement is signed “Omega” and numbered:4991860. The movement is in good working condition however, we cannot guarantee accuracy for an antique pocket watch.
CASE: The watch lies in a steel open face case with a smooth finish. The inner side of the case is signed OMEGA and numbered: 5760788. The cuvette shows different medals and is signed: “OMEGA”.
Omega History: Omega, the watchmaking company, was founded by Louis Brandt in 1848 in Le Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. In 1880, it relocated to its current site in Bienne, Switzerland. Initially, the firm did not go by the name Omega it was named after the launch of a watch model called the “Omega” in 1894. Today, it stands as one of the world’s most renowned watch companies, having served as the official timekeeper for the Olympic Games since 1932. Additionally, they have provided their “moon watch” to American and Russian astronauts since 1965 and 1975, respectively. The company has been part of the Swatch Group since 1983.
