This is an antique open armchair. A French, walnut salon chair with quality damask upholstery, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1840.
Delightfully expressive chair with bold features and delicate detail
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Striking walnut show frame presents deep caramel hues and fine grain interest
Lightly aged silk damask upholstery ready to enjoy as is, with appealing foliate pattern
Gently angled back rest with domed top, nestled between a pair of deep wings
Broad, cushioned arms terminate in striking carved knuckles over cabriole supports
Beautifully crafted show frame hosts cabochon and fanned detail throughout
Traditionally stuffed and deeply cushioned seat set at a comfortable height of 46cm (18'')
The removable cushion offers deep under thigh support at 59.5cm (23.5'')
