This is an antique pair of benches dating to the turn of the century c1900.
Raised on block section feet, this rustic pair of benches offer stable and generous seating and a nice alternative to dining chairs in a country kitchen.
Traditionally pegged with triangular brackets, the typical through mortice joints add interest to the solid plank seats.
The underside of the seats are carved with the initials "VPO", a conversation starter at the very least, perhaps "Victorian Pigeon Organisation"?
