A pleasing and quality set of six English Victorian period Hepplewhite shield back dining chairs presented in mahogany.
The chairs present attractively with the classic Hepplewhite design delivering huge style and elegance.
A wide stuff-over seat section rides over tapered front leg and benefits from perimeter stretcher, together providing a comfortable seating experience and a robust form suitable for daily use.
Well proportioned, generous in size, and sturdy this versatile set of chairs offer comfort in use with a useful 47cm (18.5") seat height and a comfy seat pad.
The needlepoint tapestry heavy textile presents well throughout the set. The chairs have tired webbing and whilst usable would welcome re-webbing.
An attractive shield back rises with a carved half moon leading into a trio of plume feathers with a repeat at the top flair under the camel back. The mahogany shows good colour and grain.
Overall the chairs represent an opportunity to own a fine set of six gorgeous chairs which will serve well and look fabulous for many decades to come.
