This is an antique shipwright's chest. An English, stained pine workman's trunk, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
Pleasingly aged maritime chest, with a fascinating appearance
Displays a desirable aged patina throughout
Robust, stained pine stocks show copious patination
Stout lid opens smoothly, coming to rest on the raised candlebox lid
Appealing, natural interior in a delightfully clean order
Inset brass lock to fascia — untested, key absent
Hand painted monogram to lid reads W.H.W.
Return to sender label to interior for the titular William H Waters
