This is an antique shipwright's tool chest. An English, Victorian pine trunk dating to the mid 19th century, circa 1850.

Crafted in antique pine displaying grain interest throughout
Good consistent colour and a desirable aged patina
Opening lid rests upon a stout bracket to the rear
Chest displays dovetail joinery at each corner and sits within a continuous plinth base

Featuring the original brass lock, key absent, and brass keyhole escutcheon
The generous internal chest hosts a suite of removable mahogany trays
