Antique Silver Centre Seconds Chronograph, c1871

A very good Antique, Swiss made, Silver Centre Seconds Chronograph Pocket Watch in good condition, however not currently in working order.
This watch is from a collection that has been in storage for some time and is not currently working. It is therefore being sold as in need of service/repair.
The plain silver case is hallmarked with the maker's mark "SF", the Lion Passant mark for sterling silver, alongside the Chester town import mark and date letter "h" for 1871/72. The case also has the serial number 34277 to match the movement, proving both are original and have been together since new. The case is in very good condition. The inner cuvette (dust cover) has the name and address of a previous, probably the original owner engraved above the date 1873.
The white enamel dial is in excellent condition. It has the hours in Roman numerals.
The Swiss made movement is not in working order, although the balance swings freely.
The watch measures 56mm in diameter (across the case). The weight is 175.6g.
A good example of a Centre Seconds Chronograph Pocket Watch, a nice addition to any collection. Specialists in Antique Pocket Watches & Vintage Wristwatches, Jewellery, Silver (including Scottish Provincial),Good Quality Antiques & Works of Art.
