Antique silver Waltham P S Bartlett pocket watch

Antique silver Waltham P S Bartlett pocket watch.
The watch has a super quality stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed P S Bartlett which is the movement grade… Patten Sargeant Bartlett was one of the early employees of the Boston Watch Company which went on to become the Waltham Watch Company. He subsequently left Waltham to work for the National Watch Company at Elgin Illinois but eventually returned to Waltham to work as a salesman before opening his own wholesale business. As well as being fully signed, the movement also has the serial number 5,686,543 which dates it back to 1892/93. The movement has a beautiful damascened finish and it is all protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 55mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case was made by the Crescent Watch Case Company… the outer case is stamped ‘sterling’ while the inner cover is stamped ‘nickel’. The back of the watch has a lovely design of leaves and flowers, with a vacant cartouche to the centre. There is a patch of slight unevenness to the back of the watch but overall the condition is very good.
The watch glass is in good condition.
The white enamel dial is in lovely condition and the shaped hands are a particularly charming feature.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
Please contact us before placing international orders so that we can advise of shipping prices and to see if customs regulations allow us to post watches to your country.
The international buyer is responsible for paying any import duties and taxes.
All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the \'Buy Securely\' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
