Antique Stauffer silver Swiss pocket watch & chain

Antique silver Swiss pocket watch for Stauffer & chain.
The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for London (import mark), 1914 with a sponsor’s mark for Charles Nicolet for the importer Stauffer & Co, importers of Swiss watches from various manufacturers including Eterna, IWC and Patek Philippe.
The front and sides of the case are in good condition. The hinged case back has some unevenness and light surface marking.
The glass lens is in good condition.
The dial looks good to the naked eye. If viewed closely, there is a faint hairline between 1 and 2. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch comes with a silver chain, 34cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. The T-bar and clasp are hallmarked but difficult to read, possibly a date letter for 1893. Each of the links on the chain has the lion silver mark.
Also included is a Band of Hope fob. The Band of Hope was founded in 1847 following the death of a young man whose life was cut short by alcohol. With the help of other temperance workers, the Band of Hope was formed to teach children the importance and principles of sobriety and teetotalism.
The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.
ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
Please contact us before placing international orders so that we can advise of shipping prices and to see if customs regulations allow us to post watches to your country.

We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the \'Buy Securely\' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
