This is an antique torchere. An English, mahogany plant stand or jardiniere, dating to the William IV period and later, circa 1830.
Appealing, early 19th century antique stand
Displaying a desirable aged patina with minimal signs of wear under close inspection
Select mahogany offers fine grain interest and deep russet hues beneath a wax polish finish
Elegantly carved supports impress with twist reeded and fluted turnings
Later, deeply tiered torchere stand suitable for lamps or jardiniere
Carved collar decorated with foliate leaf patterns, framed with broad ring turns
Square pedestal with frieze panel carvings beneath the dashing turned column
Standing upon a tiered base with gentle chamfering
