This is an antique tripod shaving mirror. An English, mahogany and birch adjustable personal grooming stand, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1840. A superbly crafted and highly functional piece, ideal for the discerning collector or gentleman’s dressing room.
Fine early Victorian craftsmanship, with beautifully figured mahogany and birch throughout
Desirably aged mirror plate, offering a clear reflection with minor historic markings
Adjustable height and angle, aided by a refined brass vernier mechanism, rotating through 180°
Demi-lune compartment lids open to reveal a charming birch-lined interior with caramel tones
Mirror plinth framed in mahogany with elegant bevelled edge moulding
Decorative acanthus bulb carving to the upright support, showcasing quality hand-carved work
Raised upon a distinctive tripod base, with bold cabriole legs and graceful scrolled toes
