A superb antique Victorian burr walnut writing table / desk. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1840-1850 period.

The quality is outstanding, this is as fine a writing table of the period as you could find. This has lovely proportions with a slight overhang to the top on the sides, the burr walnut grain patterns are gorgeous throughout. There is nice carving on the edges, this stands on finely turned and fluted legs, which sit on original porcelain casters. The back of the desk is nicely finished with a dummy drawer, this looks identical front and back and can be used as a free standing item.

The condition is excellent for its age, we have just had this re-polished. The leather top has also been replaced with a hand coloured and gold tooled green leather.
