Here we have this beautiful antique Victorian mahogany desk made by Spillman & Co, St Martins Lane London. This desk has five drawers, each with brass handles and the table top has a reeded edge. The top of each leg is inlaid with ebony, and has casters (wheels) to the bottom for easier movement.
Spillman & Co
Starting in the 19th century as a cabinet maker, Spillman and Co. was one of London’s leading furniture dealers by the 1920s and 1930s. The company, based on St Martin’s Lane in the early 20th century, branded the antique pieces sold through their store with an ivorine Spillman & Co emblem.
