Antique Victorian Mahogany Two Door Bookcase

A good Victorian mahogany bookcase dating to circa 1860. The classic rounded corner design with a moulded cornice above a pair of arched glazed doors enclosing three adjustable shelves. The projecting base with a frieze drawer above two panelled cupboard doors with shelf behind, all standing on a plinth base. This lovely bookcase will hold a total of 21’8 (6m 60cm) of books.
With a beautiful colour and patina, in good condition with minor small marks associated with age, there is a dark mark and scratch to the top surface and there are no keys to the lock (a traditional locksmith should be able to cut one to fit, or we can arrange to have it done if required), the sides are faded slightly as is the central moulding on the base doors. There is also an ink stain inside the drawer.
Width - 51in (129.5cm)
Depth - 21 1/4in (54cm)
Height - 91in (231cm)
Top shelves - 42 1/2in wide x 10in deep (108cm x 25.5cm)
For transportation and moving this bookcase splits into four sections (cornice, top section, drawer section and base section).
Ref: 0438 Please appreciate all our items are antique and as such may have minor scratches, marks, knocks, shrinkage splits signs of old woodworm, and minor losses to veneer, which combine with care and years of polishing to create an individual character and patina. We cannot describe each marks separately and therefore suggest you do take the time to request extra photos. We do offer a 14 day money back guarantee for UK purchases but cannot refund the return shipping cost.
