This is an attractive and excellent quality antique Victorian satin birch library writing side table, circa 1840, stamped with the cabinet maker’s name “C. Hindley & Sons, 134 Oxford Street, London”.

This is an attractive and excellent quality antique Victorian satin birch library writing side table, circa 1840, stamped with the cabinet maker’s name “C. Hindley & Sons, 134 Oxford Street, London” on the top left hand drawers. These cabinetmakers were famous for manufacturing carpets, rugs and antique furniture during the early Victorian period. This library table features a stunning golden colour with a single piece top and two working drawers. The drawer on the right hand side features the original and working lever brass lock with original key. The table sits on four elegant turned baluster legs.
This item would compliment any home, office or library and is ideal as either a library table writing table or desk or even a dressing table. So, don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture!

This item is in excellent condition. There are no splits to the top. The wooden drawer knobs, locks and key are all original and in good working order. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. Some ink stains to the insides of the drawers. The drawers are in good working order and close flush to the frame. Free of woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.
