Antique Walnut Stationery Holder / Letter Rack
A wonderful and very usable stationery caddy or letter holder dating to the late 19th century and signed to the front by the famous German pencil and stationery manufacturer, A.W. Faber, in business since 1761 and still in business today under the name, Faber-Castell.
I would imagine French or English in origin and made for the English market, this example is made by solid Walnut with a good polished patina and beautifully shaped dividers creating a decorative example.
Excellent condition, the footprint measures 12" x 6" x 6 1/2" tall at the rear. The internal aperture of the compartments measures 10 3/4" wide. A welcome addition to the finest of desk-tops.
