Antique Watercolour / Artist's Box by Rowney c1880


A handsome English Victorian Artist's box made from Mahogany with an inlaid brass plaque to the top with a matching escutcheon housing the working key.
The drawer also has an inlaid flush brass campaign or military style handle,
The box opens to reveal the original lining to the interior of the lid, gold embossed leather "G. Rowney & Co., Artist's Colourmen, 64 Oxford Street and Prince's Hall, Piccadilly, London", dating this box to around 1880.
The removable tray has a variety of paint cakes, some Rowney and some Winsor and Newton.
Excellent condition, measuring 9 3/4" x 8 3/4" x 4" tall.
