I'm always happy to give a home to something that has either been mended for the sheer love of it or out of financial necessity. I don't know which category this falls into but this now has two ash legs and one pine and it's been there a long time. When you scrub pine,as on a pine scrub top table, the soft growth gets worn away leaving the dense winter growth standing proud. This pine leg has been grown at high altitude or high latitude, the annual rings are very close together on this and the whole thing scrubbed for so long that the winter growth stands proud like fins. A strong indicator of cleanliness in the dairy. The sycamore top is nearly 3" thick and 12" in diameter.There is an ancient but stable split one side probably from the constant scrubbing and soaking. It is now elegant, sturdy and ready for a new life, even in the dairy if you like. The top is just what you expect with sycamore, silky smooth, feeling as though it was as soft as butter.
