Antique Zenith silver hunter pocket watch, 1919
Antique Zenith silver half hunter pocket watch, 1919.
The watch has a good quality hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Zenith name and it has the serial number 2,369,618 which dates it back to 1919. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 49mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside all three covers including marks for Glasgow 1919 and the mark for the Zenith Watch Company. The case is in good condition for a 1919 piece, just some surface marking but nothing too serious at all. The front cover has blue enamel filled numerals surrounding a small central lens. The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover.
Inside, the lens is in lovely condition (some white reflection showing in the photo).
The dial is signed Zenith and it also has the name of the original retailer, E J Vokes, Bath. The dial is in good condition with blued steel hands, including the special half hunter hour hand so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
