Art Deco Gents Gold Plated Watch By Elgin, c1937

This is one of the finest examples of an Elgin Art Deco gents Dress wristwatch we have seen in a long while. There is fine filigree etchings along both sides of the bezel. The timepiece is approx 25% longer than most of the watches of it's day which were in the 35-36mm category and this one is approx 43 mm. The motor is an eighteen size. A super Art Deco Elgin case is 14k gold plated with no wear or tipping, housing an accurate running, fully serviced watch, 15 red ruby Jewel Elgin movement, winding smoothly and setting properly. This stylish time piece watch is powering the original hands. A truly stylish and sophisticated watch any gentleman would love to wear. We've added a brand new blue high quality real leather strap.
All of our watches are sent first class FREE UK delivery in a complimentary presentation box.
BIO
The Elgin National Watch Company, commonly known as Elgin Watch Company, was a major US watch maker from 1864 to 1968. The company sold watches under the names Elgin, Lord Elgin, and Lady Elgin. For nearly 100 years the company's manufacturing complex in Elgin, Illinois, was the largest site dedicated to watchmaking in the world. During World War II all civilian manufacturing was halted and the company moved into the defense industry, manufacturing military watches, chronometers, fuzes for artillery shells, altimeters and other aircraft instruments and sapphire bearings used for aiming cannons. All US manufacturing was discontinued in 1968 and manufacturing ended.
