Here we have a very stylish Art Nouveau 15ct Yellow Gold, Garnet and Seed Pearl pendant / brooch. It is heart shaped with a central garnet, a single drop garnet at the bottom and the flowers and stems in the interior decorated with seed pearls. The garnets are a fabulous deep red colour.

There is a loop at the top, also decorated with seed pearls, so that it can be worn as a pendant on a chain and a pin across the back so that it can be worn as a brooch.

The combination of yellow gold, garnet and pearl has always been popular and was a particular favourite in the Art Nouveau era The blend of colours and the delicate metalwork still look supremely elegant today.

Condition is very good with no dings or damage to the fine goldwork. All the stones and seed pearls are intact. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The brooch / pendant is 4.8cm from top to bottom and 3.1cm across the width of the heart shape. It weighs 3.9g.

The back of the pendant-brooch is stamped 15ct on one of the stems. As with most antique jewellery from this era, it was below the weight which required it to be fully hallmarked.
